Creating a desire to learn that goes beyond the school walls.
Learning should be a positive, enjoyable experience which opens doors and creates opportunities. At Tong we believe education should also be about creating in all students a curiosity that makes them into lifelong learners.
All Tong students study the core subjects of English, Maths, Science, RE and PE and are also guided to choose from a wide range of GCSE and BTEC subjects.
Besides the school as a whole being one big community, we are divided into five separate communities, all of which contain students from years 7 to 13. The Student Progress Teams are the backbone to each community and provide an efficient way for us to provide guidance and support to individual students. This enables us to personalise their curriculum in a way that allows each student to achieve at a rate that best suits them.
The curriculum has been designed to allow all pupils to have opportunities to achieve qualifications in a range of subjects, follow areas of particular interest and specialise in the subjects in which they excel.
Everyone is encouraged to reach their academic potential so that they can compete for the best places in higher education, employment and further professional training.
The key skills we focus on are:
English Modern Foreign Languages
Performing Arts Design Technology
Health & Social Sciences Specialised Learning Provision
