9.30am @ Tong High School
16 Primary school teams from around Bradford descended on Tong High School recently, for the highly competitive U9 New Age Kurling competition. With 8 courts dominating the school’s Sports Hall, the teams battled it out to reach the finals to ultimately win the title.
The game, which has been adapted to be an all-inclusive game for students of all abilities and including disabilities, challenges the young people to score as many points as they can aiming for their targets to contribute to the team score.

Pupils from Bankfoot, St Matthews CE, Ryecroft, All Saints, Hollingwood, Lower Fields, Knowleswood, Newhall Park, Carrwood, Woodside and Horton Park showed an excellent level of skill, with many competitions with close scores between the teams.
After a tense final round, Bankfoot Primary School were named the overall winners. Newhall Park came in second place and St Matthews CE B Team came in third place.
We would like to thank all young people who attended the event for their professionalism and sportsmanship. The bar was set that little bit higher this year—well done!
A special thanks go to all of the Tong leaders who assisted at the event, particularly Kyle and Dominic whose leadership skills were exceptional!
