This 2011/2012 Academic year marks the dawn of a new day and the launch of Bradford School Sport Enterprise. Following the unfortunate cessation of the South Bradford School Sport Partnership network due to heavy government cuts, Tong High School has invested in developing a sustainable sporting framework for young people across Bradford.
Led by Bradford School Sport Enterprise Manager Mrs Claire Caunce, the Enterprise will be working with 33 Primary schools under the School Games platform and the School Games Organiser. So that school sport doesn’t relapse due to the reduced capacity of the government funded posts, eighteen primary schools have subscribed to access further opportunities for their students and staff. We will learn from what has gone and develop the path for the future in school sport, physical activity and community clubs which will be sustainable for our local neighbourhood.
We are delighted that launch of the new School Games delivered by Rachel Hargreaves will continue to build upon the successful school sport competitive programme that has been established over the years. This academic year is a great year to launch the new school games programme and to inspire all of our young people to take part in competitive sport and leadership with so many high profile sporting events taking place including the Rugby World Cup, Euro 2012 and of course the main event London 2012.
We are working in partnership with the Bradford Bulls and the Youth Service for a number of our projects including all our activity and dance camps during the schools half term breaks. Booking forms available from Tong High School
