INDUSTRIAL ACTION: Tuesday 5th July 2016. SCHOOL WILL BE OPEN FOR YEARS 10 and 12 only.  As you may be aware from the media, nationally NUT (National Union of Teachers) members in England have voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action in a response to funding concerns, workload and working conditions. The NUT is calling strike action on 5th July 2016 and this will impact schools and colleges across the country. The action is not against this school itself but is part of the national industrial action organised by the Union concerned. School will be open for year groups who are preparing for examinations. It is vitally important that students in Year 10 and 12 attend school on Tuesday 5th July between 8:15-2:15pm. Work for other year groups (Years 7, 8 and 9) will be set via home learning tasks.

June: Pathways Event for current Year 11 students who are considering coming to Tong Sixth Form in September. Wednesday 29th June 2016 from 6-7pm in the Love to Learn Centre. The Post 16 team will be on hand to speak to families following the presentation to offer further individual support and guidance.

May: Electrobreezy Secure Place in London Finals: Congratulations to Year 7 students who are part of the 'Electrobreezy' team for securing a place at the Solutions for the Planet Finals! Students wowed the judges as they presented with such enthusiasm and passion at the semi-final on Friday 20th May in Bradford and as a result have been invited to the Finals at the Palace of Westminster on Monday 11th July to present their Big Ideas.

April: Tong Win the Rock Challenge 2016 Regional Competition and Prepare for the Northern Open Final: Over 60 Tong High School students from all year groups took part in an eight minute performance at Magna Science Adventure Centre, Rotherham and were crowned winners of the Rock Challenge 2016 Regional Competition. March: Sport ReliefOn Friday 18th March in every minute of the school day from 8:15am-2:15pm, Tong High School, the Accelerate team, Tong and Sixth Form students took part in a 6 hour continuous triathlon for Sport Relief. Please click here to view our Sport Relief Video...
